Hokkaido is an island originally occupied by the indigenous Ainu and is considered a pioneer area, its Japanese history being relatively short compared to the rest of Japan. The other day, I received a phone call from a man I met a-year-and-a- half ago at our coffee ministry. I was surprised, but so happy to hear his voice. He wanted to see me, so we met and talked. I didn’t say anything about God but just listened to him talk because I remembered that he wasn’t interested in hearing the Gospel every time I shared it with him. more...

Asia is a very interesting place. At ordinary markets, you can find very weird things or types of food, such as, live frogs, flattened pig heads, dead snake wine, roasted ox stomach, etc. I’ve tasted duck feet, spicy noodles, blackened tofu, and pig intestines. Some are too spicy to swallow, some are too hard to chew, but some are very yummy! more...
