Asia is a very interesting place. At ordinary markets, you can find very weird things or types of food, such as, live frogs, flattened pig heads, dead snake wine, roasted ox stomach, etc. I’ve tasted duck feet, spicy noodles, blackened tofu, and pig intestines. Some are too spicy to swallow, some are too hard to chew, but some are very yummy!
Asia’s winters are BRRRRRRR!!!! Unlike California where winters aren’t cold, however, winter in Asia is very cold. Last winter, there was so much snow that an entire bridge was in chaos! Unfortunately, we were in the middle of the bridge! That day, we were one hour late for school. When it was bitterly cold, our whole family slept on one bed! I also wear four layers on top including my pajamas, two layers of pants, and two pairs of socks, yet I’m still cold!
School is fun and hard. At my Asian school, many kids make “tape-balls” by separating the sticky parts from tape. My brother and I also learned a game where we try to flip over cards with our hands. Never can you stay idle, there is so much to do. Some teachers are too serious and strict. Thankfully, I have many good teachers and friends.
Otherwise, life here goes smoothly. Even though some times get hard and frustrating, I know that in the end, God will help us make it through. Many times, I miss life in America where stuff makes sense. I try hard not to waste time but do my best at everything. I’m glad that He led us here. If we weren’t here now, so many people wouldn’t have heard stories of faith and so many experiences would never come to be. There is a purpose in the call that would change my life forever. And I know that He will keep my paths straight.
