The Mongols have a long and violent history. In the 1200's they established the Yuan Dynasty, stretching all the way from Southeast Asia to Europe. Now, most Mongols reside in Northern China and Mongolia. With almost sixty tribes, they are one of the largest minority people groups in China.

Many Mongols are herdsman, and they are usually seen on horseback in their traditional dress. In the winter, they wear fur-lined coats, and in the summer they usually wear long-sleeved cotton robes. Popular colors include red, yellow or dark blue. Every July, the Mongols hold a traditional fair, dressing in their best holiday clothing. During they festival, they participate in horse racing, archery, singing, dancing and wrestling.
