The Uygur people live in northwest China close to Russia, Kazakhstan, and India. As a result of early Arab influences, most are Muslims. The Muslim religion dictates their daily life. They are known for their love of meat and vegetable delicacies. However, they do not eat pork and will not enter a home where pork is eaten.

The young people are being influenced by the materialistic Chinese and believe that science means progress. They are interested in a good education and job so they can purchase the amenities that urban life offers. The Uygur people are one of the most unreached people groups in the world.
