Modern Day Miracles

Brother Zhou* and his colleagues had been praying for some time that the Lord would raise up a leader to start a new work in the north part of their city. It was evident that God was moving in a mighty way in other parts of the city. But the north still had no lasting advocacy.

Then it happened. One night Brother Zhou began having sharp pains in his side. He was rushed to the hospital where it was soon discovered that he had several gaul stones. However, due to the location of the stones, there was very little the doctors could do for him. The doctors suggested that he come to the hospital in the morning hours and take in fluids intravenously to prevent dehydration. Brother Zhou followed the advice of the physicians and began what turned out to be a ten-day stretch of hospital visits.

Being the evangelist that he was, Brother Zhou decided to make the best of this situation. Every morning after being hooked up to the IV, he would make his way from room to room pulling his IV unit beside him and witnessing to anyone within earshot.

It was during one of these rounds that Brother Zhou met Mr. Wang*, an older man who had been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. Mr. Wang listened as Brother Zhou shared the Gospel with him. However, being a rather hard man, he proceeded to tell Brother Zhou that he would believe only if God healed him. Brother Zhou called in another brother to pray with him for the Mr. Wang's healing. Himself, somewhat skeptical on modern day miracles, the other brother prayed for God's will to be done and was even bold enough to ask for a miracle.

A few days after the two brother's time of prayer, Mr. Wang went into surgery. To the doctors' amazement, they could not locate the cancer cells. The cells had disappeared. They removed a mass from Mr. Wang's liver but said that it was of no more significance then if they had removed a piece of a muscle. Baffled by their findings, the physicians informed Mr. Wang that they did not know what had happened. They told him to go home, he was healed.

Mr. Wang was true to his word. The day he discovered the miracle of his healing he also received the miracle of salvation. After Brother Zhuo and his colleague lead Mr. Wang to the Lord, they started planning the follow-up discipleship training. As they made their plans they discovered that not only had Mr. Wang been the recipient of two miracles, but they had just received the answer to their prayers. As it turned out, Mr. Wang lived in the north part of the city. He was ready and willing to begin a lifetime commitment of service to the Lord.

After being trained by Brother Zhou, Mr. Wang lead his wife and two daughters to the Lord and proceeded to start 2 new churches in the north part of the city within one month's time. He continues to be a faithful evangelist to this this day.
